Circular economy

Huge mountains of European textile waste are piling up in Africa and South America. To avoid this, we extend the lifespan of our clothing and reuse old textiles through upcycling and recycling .

Repair service & recycling

Our TORLAND jeans are designed to last a long time and be recycled later. That's why we offer a repair service and take the jeans back at the end of their life to reuse the raw material.

In collaboration with two social sewing workshops in Vienna, we make attractive upcycling products from old jeans. Since 2023, we have also been ensuring that old jeans are recycled into new fibers so that new jeans can be made from them.

Safe & Sustainable Fabrics for Our Jeans

Resource-saving raw materials

Our clothing is made from certified organic cotton or recycled materials. Organic cotton is grown using natural methods that protect the soil, wildlife and our environment. Recycling raw materials reduces textile waste as well as energy and water consumption.

Pollutant-free products

We do not allow SVHC substances in our products. These are substances of very high concern that can be problematic for health and the environment. We regularly have our materials tested for illegal residues in the OETI laboratory to ensure that our materials are free of harmful substances.

Oekotex certified materials

All additional materials such as labels, buttons and zippers are oeko-tex certified . This guarantees that these additives are also free of harmful chemicals. We also source these materials locally in Turkey to shorten transport routes. This allows us to significantly reduce our ecological footprint.

Sustainable production and fair working conditions in Izmir

Environmentally friendly washing

We use modern e-Flow technology to wash the jeans. Water is replaced by steam and up to 70% less water is used. The process makes the denim last longer and our nature is spared from polluted wastewater.

Fair wages and ethical business practices

Fair and ethical working conditions are particularly important to us. To ensure this, we visit our manufacturers on site at regular intervals and hold discussions with the employees. In addition, our GOTS certification requires not only ecological standards, but also social standards. These are regularly checked at the manufacturing companies and include, among other things, minimum wages, social security and working time regulations.

We have created a special environmental and social statement for TORLAND as a guideline for ethical business activities. In it we have defined criteria for the manufacture of our products and our social commitment, among other things.

packaging and shipping

We completely avoid using plastic packaging for storing and shipping our products. By using very robust, ecological paper shipping bags, we reduce paper waste by up to 80% .

Transparent supply chain

Jeans

We have our TORLAND jeans manufactured by SARP Jeans in Izmir, Turkey. Both manufacturers are certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) .

We maintain close contact with our manufacturers and are regularly on site.

Basic organic clothing

90% of our basic organic clothing (T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, etc.) comes from a cooperation with the Belgian manufacturer Stanley-Stella . These products carry our GOTS certificate, which guarantees a transparent supply chain. Each product can be traced back to the raw materials using a transparency code.

Upcycling products

In collaboration with two social sewing workshops in Vienna, new upcycling products are being created from old jeans: The Neighbors in Vienna association supports migrant women in integrating into our society. The Hope for the Future association offers people who have been victims of human trafficking and prostitution an initial job for reintegration.

Certifications and standards at TORLAND

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

Since 2020, TORLAND has been GOTS certified (CERES-0768), which guarantees ecological and social criteria including fair wages and safe working conditions.

Organic Content Standard (OCS)

The OCS confirms that our products are made from organically grown fibers, which ensures transparency in the supply chain.

Die perfekte Hose für gemütliche Tage auf dem Sofa. Super bequem und tolle Farben, mal was anderes als immer nur blau, grau und schwarz.

Idee super, leider nicht effektiv

die Handschuhe sind sehr schön verbreitet, die Idee ist super, leider aber nicht brauchbar für heisse Sachen weil zu wenig dick, müssten eine Verstärkung an der Handinnenseite haben, so leider ungenügend

Hose skinny fit

Die Hose hat eine schöne Passform und ist gemütlich

Unfassbar angenehm zu tragen, tolle Farbe, toller Schnitt

Wurde in kürzester Zeit zu einem meiner Lieblingskleidungsstücke, so schlicht, so angenehmes Material und die Farbe liebe ich sowieso.
Ärmel fallen für L Größe eigentlich recht kurz aus, aber für mich (1,63) genau passend.

Tolle Hose

Ich mag die Torland Jeans wirklich gerne, habe aber auch schon die Größenunterschiede festgestellt. Habe das gleiche Modell in blau, die etwas enger sitzt. Auch schade finde ich es, dass es trotz Ankündigung noch keine 30-er Länge gibt; mir sind die Hosen tendenziell auch viel zu lang, aber ich kürze sie halt selber.
Trotzdem: TOLLE JEANS, angenehmes Material! Schönes schwarz - bin gespannt, wieviele Wäschen es erhalten bleibt :)
