Slow is the new fast

What speed has to do with sustainability – and why summer is the best time to slow down.
In summer, it becomes clear how little is sometimes needed:
Just sit outside. Shoes off. Need nothing but a quiet spot in the shade and a few honest conversations. Or an ice cream.
Because living more sustainably doesn't automatically mean less—it means living more consciously. And that starts with pace.
A quiet moment. A clear thought. A decision with impact.
What speed has to do with sustainability
Speed is everywhere: when scrolling, when buying, when making decisions.
But those who live fast often make quick decisions – including when it comes to consumption.
And that's exactly where the difference begins: Sustainability requires time. To reflect. To question. To leave things out.
Not out of principle. But because it fits better.
Because things that are created calmly often last longer.
And decisions you make slowly are often the better ones.
Less pressure. More clarity.
Being slow doesn't mean standing still.
It means not joining in everywhere. Not following every trend.
But to stand for something. For quality. For responsibility. For true style.
Sometimes it's just an afternoon with friends in the shade.
Sometimes a conscious purchase.
Sometimes the moment when you do nothing – and yet you are still with yourself.
Slow is not the opposite of fast.
Slow is: conscious.
And that's damn contemporary.
“If you’re in a hurry, go slowly.”
– Japanese proverb
