I began tailoring the first TORLAND jeans in my adopted home of Vienna in 2017. I used an old sewing machine in a small workshop in the 15th district to make them. I design the models myself, and partners in Turkey produce them according to Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) guidelines.
From the beginning, using organic cotton was a priority for me. The environmental impact of mass production due to fast fashion is alarming. That's why I focus on timeless designs and durability. TORLAND offers a repair service and recycles unwearable jeans in upcycling projects - that's what I call #SlowownFashion.
Since then, TORLAND has grown to include new designs, a team, and a store in Vienna that stocks sustainable clothing from partners.
