An important part of our sustainable approach is the recycling of denim. Rather than throwing away old denim, we give it the opportunity to be recycled in a closed loop. We bring some of the jeans we collect to Texaid, a well-known textile recycling company. Learn more about their work at: texaid.at
Thanks to advanced recycling techniques, certain denim fabrics can be reprocessed into new cotton yarn. This process allows us to extend the life of old denim fabrics and conserve resources. Recycling the raw material helps reduce waste and protect the environment.
Starting with the 2023 collection, we will use denim fabrics made with approximately 80% organic cotton and 20% recycled cotton. While a 100% recycled cotton content is possible, it is less durable due to shorter fibers. That's why we mix recycled fibers with new cotton fibers. This combination reduces the new cotton consumption and contributes to sustainable production without compromising the jeans' durability.
We believe that sustainability and fashion go hand in hand. Through our jeans recycling program, we aim to pioneer environmentally friendly practices in the industry and demonstrate that high-quality clothing can be produced sustainably. Our goal is to incorporate more recycled materials into our collections to promote environmental protection.
